Winter Scientific meeting success
Dundee proved to be the city of discovery and fun. Our joint winter scientific meeting on November 15/16th with the RCoA was a sell out again following from the similar event held with the AAGBI in Edinburgh in 2017.
Over 140 delegates enjoyed the Apex Hotel at the city quay and heard from many national experts on topics as varied as diabetes (and how the NHS spends 10% of it’s entire budget on these patients) to the inevitable rise of machine learning and artificial intelligence.
We were honoured to be one of the first ever groups to gain private access to the brand new V&A design museum prior to our dinner being held there on the Thursday evening. We were even piped over to the venue 🙂
Nancy Redfern gave the 2018 Gillies lecture and was presented with a present and the obligatory bottle to take home by President Gordon Byers.
There will be a full report in this years annals but let it be marked that a huge deal of gratitude must go to the local organising committee as well as the logistical support from the RCoA backroom team for the splendidly smooth running of the entire event.
