It is with regret that we announce the death of past president Dr Henry Fairlie. Henry was the president in 1974 becoming (as far as we can gather) the first on only son of a previous president. His father, H.P Fairlie, was one of the founding members of this Society away back in 1914 and was, himself, the president in 1923 and again in 1932.
Henry was a consultant anaesthetist in Glasgow Western Infirmary from 1946 until his retiral in 1979
Henry attended the centenary dinner in 2014 and was still living independently at that time. He is pictured on the front row next to the president Dr Neil MacKenzie at the time.
He died on March 19th aged 102 and is survived by his son and daughter, grand children and great grand children.
